Okay writers, quick question.  What program do you like to write your documents on?  Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Wattpad, etc.  I’ve always used Microsoft Word but lately I’ve been using that and Google Docs.  Just curious to see what other people use!

Scrivener! Paying for something made me more responsible about actually writing

Microsoft Word. Google Docs is acting weird on my computer, loads slowly, and is generally freaking me out about losing something in case my internet goes out. I also tried yWriter once bu it’s way too intimidating for me.

Camp NaNoWriMo Day 02

I did some plotting I did some chronological ordering. I’m up to the first half of the story, the second half is a bit less tangible so if I’m not feeling it tomorrow I might go back to work on the first half. So far I just generally outlined it but I want to go further into the mini arcs. I also named a few characters, there’s Abel, the best nerd, I’m kinda giving him the Fitz treatment which can either mean something good or something bad (hint: it’s both), I also named my fave girl Hayes, and my main girl Journey. I know the American Idol contestant’s spelled “Jurnee” but I like that it’s just the word journey. I also named one of the other core characters Marshall.

I just told my sister about the story idea that I have and it might be the best story description I’ve ever penned so I’m gonna paste it here.

New York Times Bestsellers here I come.

theres this girl, right. she’s lying down on the grass, watching the stars n shit, its like 4000BC I guess in EGYPT I GUESS idk which is why i need to know what she would think of them. and then one of them like.. falls.. and they’re used to falling stars but shes like damn that star/god just wont stop falling. and then. it like falls ON HER. and then there’s this woman, who’s also a god, and she’s like QUICK I NEED TO HIDE GIVE ME YOUR BODY CAUSE I NEED TO HIDE IN A HUMAN BODY CAUSE IM IN A HIGH SPEED GOD CHASE and the girl’s like alright pump ur breaks lady u wot now
and then the next thing she knows she’s underground like proper underground and she has to fight her way out from underground and she’s in a forest and she’s nekkid as a babby and there’s this dude nearby who’s like damn thats a weird cabbage if i ever seen one

and then it turns out that she’s like nowhere near her home, in a completely different place (spoiler alert its a different planet too) and she’s having these visions about the god lady emerging from a pool in a cave and she’s like, blindfolded and her blindfold is sOAKED IN BLOOD and she’s telling this girl to find her and use the DIVINE POWER she gave the girl which is some of her own godly power, but she’s got no idea where to go she just knows the god’s name. but nobody around (not the dude who finds her and not anyone in the town where they go to) know anything about her, just vaguely that she might be an obscure religion in some buttfucktown in the middle of nowhere. and because the girl now has this semi-divine power the people that find her are like hey. help us out with our shit using your divine power and we’ll help you find the blind pool lady kay? and the girl’s like, kay.

Camp NaNoWriMo Day 01

So I think along with yesterday’s progress I have the premise nailed down and also the full ending and the general structure. I have the whole beginning, the entire conflict, I even have the first ~mini arc? Like how the character (whose name I also have I’m just not confident enough to say it yet, I named her after an American Idol contestant whose name is fucking COOL YO x)) will fit into the world and how she will start off on her journey. I have 3-4 other characters generally outlined, I have the BFF character almost completely thought out, he’s gonna be lovely.

I want to do a little like, almost episodic thing that I wanted to do back with my Part Time Goner story (the one that had the evil demigod character named Cephas whose name I then gave the guy in Vale who’s everything but evil x)) that they will go through like mini arcs that leads them to the Big Reveal (u just gotta have those ok, that’s just my thang yall) and then it splits there cause it’s only then that they’ll even realise what the story even is about x)

And then the second half of the story is just the lead-up to the Final Confrontation.

I pretty much have the entire ending and where the story will end. Which is cool. I mean I always do but still. It’s always the easiest part. Once I figured out how I can bring the most out of the base conflict which changed a lot since the first version it was pretty easy, now it’s the middle that I gotta figure out how to do best. I also have like smaller beats and character moments in the middle.

I want to have lots of genres in there, I’ve been aching to write a good horror story so I want to have some of that, I also want to have a proper heist arc, lots of environments, lots of characters (it’s time to try to do lots of characters again, I haven’t managed it since The Rains Come and that was four years ago), and because it’s not on Earth and it involves magic I can do whatever I want. I just don’t want to get overwhelmed with possibilities and stuff I still want to have it in a tangible context. Magic’s scary I only ever did two stories with magic in them. One was semi-magic that I fake-science’d my way out, and Vale involved very little magic and the bigger magic it had was all kinda like not explained at all, it just happened cause it wasn’t important.

IT’S A LOT, OKAY. I just want to take it one step at a time so I’m glad I nailed down the basics. I dumped all the exposition and the ending into one Word file so tomorrow I’m going to start an ~arc-by-arc file where I sort of outline the chronological order of events not just in a huge block of text but so that my ADD brain fucking UNDERSTANDS IT.

Also I don’t have a title yet o_o Which is strange, I usually have a title very early on into planning and this planning has gone for months now.

Is this thing on?

Hello! Writeblr here?

This is my first go at a proper writeblr. I’ve been writing for seven years now but honestly it feels way longer than that… is that even correct? No yeah, absolutely, seven years. The frick?

I’m Tia, 25, I write in English even though I’m not a native speaker but somehow I’m even worse in my mother tongue. I love science fiction and dystopian fiction sprinkled with the occasional supernatural. I love zombies, robots, time travel, and mind-bending, way too convoluted plotlines that even I don’t understand, but more than anything I love to make up fake science just so I don’t have to do any real research.

I’m a little scared to get into writeblring because from what I’ve seen y’all are wonderful, kind-hearted, supportive people and I’m like a tar-like blob in the corner nobody really wants to look at but it makes weird noises from time to time and it’s starting to get really fucking awkward and people are leaving the party and the host really just wants to know who brought that thing as their plus one.

Joke’s on you, I snuck in through the garbage chute.

Anyways, I’ll be posting my recently finished labour of love, Vale, that is about a supernatural-ish assassin who instead of killing one of her marks decides to free him and then hopefully mind-bendy shenanigans ensue. This is the longest my stupid ADD brain has stuck with a story (one and a half years) and it’s very close to my heart so at the moment I’m looking into ways to get feedback on it.

I’ll also be posting some other writing-related stuff that I don’t want clogging up my main blog (that I’ve had for nine years so I’m not exactly new to tumblr eh) so give me a follow if you’d like? Recommend me other writeblrs to follow? Other stuff you guys do on here?

Thanks, bYE

Hello I made a writeblr, please love me.
