No yeah, I’ll say it here too just cause I talked about this with my sister, TAZ: Balance is up there with my favourite stories. Yeah I’d say it’s top3 with Undertale and Bioshock Infinite. Just with its presentation, the narrative style, the experience of it all as you piece it all together. Definitely. It’s a good story.
Murder on the Rockport Limited exists in this weird liminal space because it’s better constructed than Gerblins but they still haven’t QUITE figured out how seriously they want to take this whole podcast. So on the one hand you have this cool murder mystery and the introduction of a major NPC and Tres Horny Boys are marginally more coordinated than they have been thus far, even if the overarching plot doesn’t advance very far, but like on the other hand it also includes
—An entire town of Tom Bodetts
—Hand stank
—Everything about Jenkins’ introduction
—The Brief but Horrible Scottish Accent of Merle Highchurch
—“Sorry guys I had a really bad initiative roll”
—Graham the Juicy Wizard
—That moment where Magnus actually very nearly died because no one cared yet if one of them had to roll a new character so he just threw himself off a train
—Jenkins fucked up his roll to attack THB so badly and Griffin didn’t have a backup plan so instead of a boss fight Jenkins just got punched off the train and died
Secret time, from what I read about TAZ back when I had no idea what it was all about, and pls note that this is bits of information from different arcs and just stuff I didn’t understand, pieces of sentences that I didn’t even read fully, I thought that the story was something like, the voidfish is this huge-ass fish in space that swallows the universe and every time it does time resets or the story restarts and so they’re in this cycle (hehe) of constantly having to save the world from the voidfish but they always forget when they restart the cycle and only learn that they’ve done this a hundred (hehe) times before when it’s already too late and uh, anyway, that’s what I thought huh.
Me: hoe don’t do it.
Me: *plays arms outstretched and reunion tour on repeat*
Me: oh my god
Me: aw we find out what the squad did in the year following their victory, sweet ^^ Griffin: how does Magnus die? Me:
