I love Taliesin Jaffe, and not just because he’s weird and bisexual and his middle name is Axelrod and I’m 100% sure he’s stared down at least one demon in his lifetime.
I just. I want a list of random insane facts about Taliesin Jaffe and people have to pick out which are lies and which are true. But all turn out to be true. Cause his life is just that ridiculously amazing.
Literally, OFF the top of my head, I can remember the following:
– has been the Vampire Prince of LA and had a coup against him where people strapped him into a coffin, covered in TNT, but forgot to leave the room and were instead impaled by the shrapnel while Taliesin was unharmed. (EDIT: THIS HAPPENED IN A LARP, OK, NOT REAL LIFE, PEOPLE ARE FREAKING OUT. I’M SORRY.)
– had to take breaks from seeing a tutor (instead of regular school) to go swim with dolphins, weekly, for filming a movie as a teen
– quit his child-acting career after having to read for a Baywatch episode that was so ridiculous he as a thirteen year old boy said ‘this is bullshit’
– played Vampire LARP behind a Mormon church organised by a local couple (also from the Mormon Church possibly? I don’t remember) literally just an adult couple inviting teens to pretend to be vampires
– his middle name is Axelrod cause clearly ‘Taliesin Jaffe’ was not strange enough yet for his parents
and this is just from what I’ve remembered from youtube videos I watched in the past two days. I sort of remember many, many more Tales of Taliesin from CR or other interviews…
Idk if I’m allowed to add on but fuck it I am-
– His grandfather, George Axelrod, was a screenwriter and playwright who worked with a lot of well known 60s actors that Taliesin grew up considering family
– On that note, got actor Roddy McDowell (of Planet of the Apes, Fright Night and much much MUCH more) to do voices in his early anime fandubs
– Woke up from being blackout drunk in Mark Hamil’s house because one of his squad went to school with Mark’s son
– The Original Anime Weeb. Was going to cons in homemade cosplays in 1991-92. Get on his level
– Has a brother named Tibet because apparently Taliesin wasn’t an unusual enough name
To clarify one of the above, he didn’t start the night drunk in Mark Hamill’s house. He started in LA and then woke up in a Malibu home the next morning. That’s no small distance, AND it happened to be Mark Hamill’s home.
other additions:
– it’s less that his middle name is Axelrod and more than his mother’s maiden name is Axelrod so his last name should technically be hypenated as Taliesin Axelrod-Jaffe but he doesn’t seem to bother and he has been listed in the credits of games as T. Axelrod.
– Has a brother with the 100% normal name of Alex. Said brother has a PhD and works at Riot Games (the League of Legends people) and helps Taliesin make vampire character sheets for his friends.
– Told a story once where as a younger kid, a producer who was dating his mom found out he was interested in comics but the producer didn’t know a goddamn thing about comics so he just went into the comics store and bought some for Taliesin to try and get the kid to like him and literally all the comics he bought were EXTREMELY adult comics (both in terms of sex and violence). Taliesin was like 12 and read all of them.
– Also told a story that due to the fact that he’d been in the film industry from such a young age, he got into directing voice acting as a very young adult and nobody would take him seriously so he not only had to keep firing people who couldn’t respect him but also had a repeated series of incidents where people he was directing would give really half-hearted efforts, then suddenly realize he was the director and not some fucking rando and they would abruptly apologize and do their jobs correctly.
On any other post I’d laugh at op having to clarify that the Vampire Prince covered in TNT was role-playing but this is Taliesin Jaffe we’re talking about and I’d totally believe it
trust me, I’ve had two direct messages asking me to clarify who the fuck used TNT against Taliesin and one panicky reblog asking for more info…
