Single mom with 7 children desperately needs to move to a new apartment away from her abusive ex-husband. Chana has been struggling the past few years with raising her children, working and fighting for her divorce.  She always kept up a positive attitude even though her ex-husband made her life miserable.  She kept smiling and looking for the silver lining. She finally secured her divorce and thought she would be able to slowly build her life back up.

 

But her ex-husband won’t stop stalking her and harassing her and the children. He has shown up at her place of employment, videoed her, caused her so much stress at work that she had to find a new job. Not easy while juggling raising 7 children. He destroyed her car when it was parked in a parking lot so now she has to take buses everywhere, which makes working and taking care of the kids a lot more difficult because it more than doubles the amount of time needed to get to and from work.

 

He vowed that he won’t leave her alone until she relinquishes the apartment she lives in to him.  But that would leave her and the 7 kids homeless. The apartment itself is barely inhabitable but he feels it is his and he wants her out.  He has not paid any child support ever and won’t even acknowledge that he owes it.

The only break Chana has had was when her ex-husband was in jail.  But he has been out for the past year and the restraining order she had expired earlier this week and since then her ex-husband has upped the harassment causing the kids to have nightmares. She needs to move asap.

Chana needs to secure rent monies as she has been unable to work a steady job with all the upheaval and turmoil. To make matters worse, her youngest has severe epilepsy and she has been spending hours on buses to take him to his doctor appointments.  This is the first time, with all that she has been dealing with, that Chana started to break.

Hey everyone,
You probably know me from my disability activism posts, but:
<b> My name is Alexa, I’m 22, from Poland, wheelchair bound and I have cardiovascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome with heart birth defect (and comorbid lupus, dysautonomia and some other illnesses) which is incurable and will kill me in next 10 years.</b>
BUT! I’m still alive now and also pretty poor and have a mentally ill mum as an only caretaker.
<b> I’m trying to get a motorized wheelchair since I dislocate joints and faint from fatigue while wheeling on my actual one. </b>
I was hosting a fundraiser for accessible bathroom but my government denied me help and it’s currently impossible due to my housing situation. Which sucks.

I decided to add to this post instead of making a new one.
You all know my situation. I live with my mum, and my only way to go outside is with my father, who is verbally and physically abusive and abused me sexually when I was a kid. I’m terminally ill and I have a bipolar disorder.

<b> But I have this amazing opportunity now! I can move out and move to uni where my best friend/chosen sibling goes to, and I could live with them in a flat. </b>
It would mean big city, accessibility at uni, and no need for new wheelchair! But it means I need money to pay for the flight and get my uni stuff together. I can figure rest of the stuff out when I’m with them, and hopefully my disability won’t be taken away.

I need all your help. I can’t work and I rely on disability welfare that’s really low and goes to my meds and help for my mum.

Please, please help me, I’m so desperate. I don’t want to die in this house, I don’t want to be abused anymore, I just want a life I deserve with a person who cares for me and loves me as family should.

I broke my phone and I’m a bit in a bad financial spot in general, I got braces and a corset from donated money tho so I am really grateful for that! As most of you know, I have been dealing with severe seizures for the past several months. Recently, I conducted testing with a 72-hour EEG. The test results are almost ready and I have to go to an appointment in a week to get those results and move forward in the healing process. However, I need help with the medical costs for the appointment, as well as for the Uber fare I need to get there since I don’t have a ride available. (My doctor’s office is a few towns over).

In total, I need to raise about $70 within the next week. That is why I am making this post. As always I will consider doing critiques, edits and the like in return for larger donations, but smaller donations are always much appreciated if you would like to help.

I feel like there needs to be some kind of post for MCU fans on How To Write About Africa because I feel like there’s a lot of people out there who want to write about Wakanda and T’Challa but are worried about being problematic and that makes me sad because there’s SO MUCH GREAT meta to be had about T’Challa and Wakanda but at the same time there’s a lot of legitimate concerns about perpetuating racist stereotypes and yeah.

T’Challa and Wakanda could be such a great way to introduce people to amazing sci-fi concepts that people should know

This is SO needed. 

It’s so easy to be like ‘just try it!’ but the problem with this website is that people don’t think its okay for people to make mistakes. I’ve gotten messages from people who want to write about T’Challa/Wakanda but are nervous about how their work will be perceived and its so sad. 

We really need to gather some people who’d be interested in writing a nice little info post!
