I was watching this livestream yesterday and was quite surprised when Tom said they “fired” Chris and since I started listening to them right after they released twoyl I don’t remember how exactly the “firing” happened I thought they mutually agreed that they had to part ways? or maybe Tom just said that without thinking?

Honestly at this point they’re probably sick of talking about it. This is something we will never know how it really happened. Maybe they did fire Chris. When In Dream was released Tom said that conversation was the last time they talked. Chris also joked about this article about a musician killing his band mates or something, so it just looks to me they’re all bitter as fuck.

They had to say it was a mutual agreement and a difference in ideas and whatnot when it happened, to avoid ill-intended rumours and to appeal to fans comfort but the truth is probably uglier. The fact that Ed and Russ stayed on board gladly (esp with Ed being so close to Chris) tells me whatever caused the problem had one solution, and it was to not have Chris in the band. It’s sad and Im really curious to know more but I also wish they let it go (interviewers and fans i mean).

It happened six years ago, it needs to stop poisoning everybody the same way all the old shit needs to go with the Ian Curtis comparisons and the “their non-electronic stuff was better”. I’m also surprised NME did anything with Editors, they’re so malicious every time they report on them.

oh no that sucks i know doctors usually suck too but have you been to one to check what’s exactly going on?

My spine surgeon is actually pretty great, I’ve been lucky with my doctors so far. I mean we know what’s going on, I was operated on three times, I have metal rods and screws keeping my crumbling spine together (sry, graphic) it’s just a pain I have to live with. I did go for a checkup recently and he said physically things were fine and when I asked him to at least give me painkillers to suppress the pain he listed a bunch I tried already and he couldn’t tell me one that I could go to work with. The one I’m taking (that I call Serum X cause it’s a much cooler name) is one I can’t take to work cause it like knocks me the eff out so…

But I’m also not disabled enough to get any benefits or help with jobs (in Hungary some companies specifically look for disabled people cause they get some tax refund if they hire them as as an incentive to help people with disabilities live a ~proper life) so I get to do what everybody else does and suffer.
