Glenna June Bellomy Anderson (1926 – 2008). When the cemetery sexton sold Glenna her stone, her request for the inscription on it was “I was… somebody.” He said the reason was that Glenna felt that many years after she died no one would probably remember her anyway. By having this inscription on her stone, people would see & remember it. Park Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. (Source)

that hit me in a way

Co-worker: *mentions what happened, saying it’s “another one gone”*
Me: Linkin Park was such a huge part of my teenage years, I was so shocked and sad when I heard what happened.
Co-worker: it’s just a guy, you didn’t know him.
Me: yeah but I mean, you know when you’re a “misunderstood” teenager and you’re obsessed with a band, it feels like they’re your best friends, saying exactly the words you want to hear. They become part of who you were growing up.
Co-worker: you’re weird.
