A wonderful accidental parallel from Vale where both her friends and her enemies humor her to keep her from throwing a temper tantrum.

Morlene (to Lourdes): “Honey, stop stealing Vale’s jokes, you know they make her feel smart.”

Many chapters later.

Ormandy (to Zavier): "Did you know she was disguised as Agatha Browning all along? Just tell her you fooled her, it’ll make her so happy.”

Last line tag!

IIRC @perringwrites maybe tagged me in this? But since I haven’t written a new word in like six months Imma just give you a paragraph from the chapter that’s up next for posting on wattpad from Vale.

Context: Cephas takes off after one of the deadly powerful royal witches so naturally Vale has to stop him before he could follow her inside the castle where he will surely be killed. In a panicked frenzy Vale gets to the outside gates of the castle, praying that Cephas hadn’t been killed yet.

He can’t be inside already. Maybe he didn’t even come this way. Maybe he’s dead already.

Then I hear slight grunting to the far right of the fence where a natural border, the side of the mountain separates the downtown from the factory district. There I discover Cephas in the bushes, bouncing on his tiptoes, trying to get a grip on the metal bars of the fence. He’s all red in the face and sweat is pouring from his scalp. I stop and fold my arms.

“I have to give you this much: the guards haven’t noticed you yet.”

I have never heard Cephas shriek up until this point but now that I have scared him into pushing himself off the fence and falling on his backside, it’s a delightful experience.

“Fucking hell,” he groans once he’s standing again, rubbing his butt.

Oh no but this chapter has such fun lines, like

“I’ve built a capable team but with the witches protecting Zavier there’s no way we can get a hold of him. You got anything to take them out?”

“Not momentarily, no,” I admit and look at the staircase in front of me that I’ll have to climb to get to the king’s suite. “But I have a feeling he’ll be fine with me hopping in through his window.”

“And if he’s not?”

I look back at Mason whose expression isn’t unlike a constipated goat’s. There’s a lot going on in that head of hers. I put a hand on her shoulder.

“You should know that I’ve always loved you.”

“Piss off,” Mason swats my hand away with a faint smile.

Or when Vale throws herself in through Zavier’s bedroom window and says these words out loud

“The last time I had this many sharp bits in my mouth I was having a completely different party.”

before noticing three of the royal witches have her surrounded.

And that one time I was behind on my wordcount goal so I had Vale recite an entire paragraph from like ten chapters ago and had her comment on how she remembered it word-by-word and planned to take it out through editing but it’s way too fond of a memory.

I’m not doing these tags correctly, am I?

I have to be positive?! This early in the morning?

1. What’s easiest for you in the writing process?

Coming up with the ending. I usually have my ending before I have the main characters.

2. What trope do you excel at?

Girl-dude friendships that stay friendships and never become anything romantic and you don’t even want them to cause they’re such good friends anything else wouldn’t be as good. I love doing that ^^ Also the enemies to friends trope is toit.

3. What POV are you best at writing?

First person. I love being in the head of my characters and narrating their inner dialogues, it helps me connect with them more.

4. Are you better at dialog, descriptions, or action?

I like to think I’m better with dialogues.

5. What do you always remember to do while writing?

to get some sick bops goin my dude

6. Are you better at, creating strong characters or solid plots?

Oh boy… umm… uUMMMMM…. well…. let’s say I have decent ideas for general overarching plots.

7. What music/art/poetry/etc. inspires you to write?

I don’t really know. All the music I like I guess. If I find a really good song that makes me feeeeeel I always wish I could write something that makes people feel the same way but I never know how to do it.

8. Are you better at one-shots, short stories, or novels? (Or something else entirely!)

I’ve only written two one-shots so I’ll go with novels.

9. What environment do you write best in?

On my bed with my laptop is the only environment I’ve ever written in but if I were crazy rich I’d totally spend my day in coffee shops on the cushioniest seats and downing cappuccinos and eating muffins and listening to music and writing :’)

10. Who has inspired or helped you that you would like to thank?

Like the four or five people that ever read and commented on the things I wrote, thaaaaanks, Vale is still on wattpad if you guys wanna read ittttt

11. What’s the best writing decision you ever made?

Bold of you to assume I make good decisions. I guess every day I don’t delete my entire writing folder is a success even though I make zero progress x)

12. What kind of character is the most natural for you to write?

Self-destructive assholes that just want friends but they usually fuck up everything. Don’t ask me why it’s an enigma to me.
