[Vox Machina] made their (…) way to the central palace in the Cloudtop District of Emon. The Briarwoods arrived, a feast was put out, however Percy went in under an illusion to look like Vax, while Vax went invisible. Everyone had formal attire on, weapons left at the door, unarmored, dressed for the occasion. During the feast, conversations were had, questions were raised, and information was extracted. Seeker Assum had requested to have been met in the foyer by our rogue here, who forgot and then decided to go on his own upstairs, following the Briarwoods to the second floor where their guest room was set.

Pike left back there to finish up the renovation of the temple of Sarenrae that was discovered—the rest of the party moved on back to Emon, the rest of their business complete. Within Emon, they returned to the Greyskull Keep where […] Seeker Assum […] came to [Vox Machina] notifying [them] that within a week’s time the Briarwoods, Lord and Lady Briarwood, are supposed to be arriving here within Emon for a feast,

to discuss, apparently, the building of a bridge and a more political joining between Emon and the Tal’Dorei royal family and these up-and-coming Lords and Ladies, who have a very dark history, apparently, with Percy.

The party had unknowingly broken the law of Vasselheim and as such found themselves in a conundrum where they had to choose either to go to the seat of judgment and be judged for breaking the law, or they could join the Slayer’s Take […]. They agreed to instead join the guild, however in doing so they had to undergo a trial. The trial involved the party being split into two different groups […] So we had our couple guest episodes for each group, separated to do their own little adventuring. (…) the rakshasa fled through a tunnel underneath its room into a long subterranean tunnel fraught with traps that were set to protect it. The party managed to avoid these rather deftly until the steady decline of the hallway, combined with the increasing moisture and scent of refuse, caused a slick surface and our fantastic cleric, (…) Kashaw, slipped and fell down. Two party members (…) joined him at the bottom of the tunnel (…). Upon splashing down (…) the party pulled themselves up [and] began to hear skittering and screeching sounds throughout the room, hundreds of small ones, while two large thorny tentacles jettisoned out of this dung heap and pulled itself to the surface with its central body full of teeth, one giant toothy maw.

Basically [Vox Machina] were given a choice: they could go to trial, or they could undergo their own personal trial to join the guild, the Slayer’s Take, which is essentially a guild that takes on contracts to hunt various requested creatures down, harvest elements of their physical bodies to then be sold or returned to these individuals and be paid for it. If they manage to complete these trials, they will be absolved of breaking the law because they will now be within the confines of it and be members of the guild. So, choosing that, they were then also notified that they would be splitting up into two different groups (…).

…the Huntmaster (…) hand-chose and divided the party into two separate smaller groups: the first group being the one that began playing with us last [episode], in which we had the illustrious Scanlan, Percy, Vex, and Grog, who were paired up with two new adventurers (…). [Critical Role’s] audience chose the creature they were going to hunt, and [they] voted on an adult white dragon—so they’ve been hunting that.

After taking a skyship across the ocean to [Vasselheim], sealing the Horn, [Vox Machina] also discover upon doing so that the long forgotten ruins of what appears to be an ancient temple to Sarenrae were recently discovered, and while Sarenrae does not have a strong following in this city, the few that are trying to raise it asked for Pike’s help, to stay back and help build it and bring it to its former glory and hopefully reestablish a basis of worship in this city, and she decided to do so, to help these folks. The party then steps away from the ruins of the tower, sad but understanding of the circumstance.
