i used to edit videos all the time 5-6 years ago but it was with a shitty old version of Vegas on a shitty old laptop, so when I recently got Vegas Pro 14 (and a much better laptop) I decided to give it a go and see how much I remember.
mothing fancy yet, just simple cuts and stuff, just to awaken those muscle memories, and since I absolutely love Critical Role what better way is there to warm up than by making a video of my favourite gnome.
I didn’t really have a plan for this video, I wanted to make a sad one and I wanted to make a happy one, so I just made both at once. I didn’t have a script for it either so it’s p clunky and the first half only has audio cause I was too impatient to download all the episodes in HD.
eeehh?
spoilers for as far as episode 114 so…

The party began to systematically take out members of the “New Nobles” who worked underneath the Briarwoods, setting many buildings on fire, leaving emblems of the de Rolo crest across the town and written in the sky, and after an extensive battle began to make their way towards the Castle Whitestone itself. Burrowing into a partially collapsed but long remembered secret passage underneath the castle, the party rested for the evening (…).While they were searching this tunnel, it led to the dungeons, the prison cells beneath the Castle Whitestone (…). While they were walking through those cells, they discovered an old woman currently locked down below there, who is asking for the party’s aid in freeing her from her imprisonment.

[Vox Machina] then set out to set a two-pronged attack against two of the remaining New Nobles in the town: Duke Vedmire was the one that Scanlan went to, the rest of [the party] going to seek Count Tylieri. As the rain pours down into the city, midday, Scanlan decided to, from a Polymorph spell as a fly, to the top of the front door step of Vedmire’s home, then proceeding to un-Polymorph and re-Polymorph himself into a triceratops. [Meanwhile,] the other group is stealthing through the rain to the back [of Tylieri’s home], at which point the OK was given to Grog—whether intentionally or not. Grog then charged to the front door of Tylieri’s estate and the rest of [them] prepared for impact.

Following him back to a home, it was discovered that Sir Kerrion, one of the individuals responsible for the death of Percival’s family, was still part of the ruling class [in Whitestone]. The party then snuck in through the bottom of the building, stealthed into a full surprise ambush upon him and his compatriots, and murdered most of them. They took his toadie, essentially, Vouk, and instead of murdering him, tore out his tongue and then burned the de Rolo family crest into his forehead before throwing him out the window. The party then escaped into the night rain, returning to their tavern.

[Vox Machina] under the guise of Scanlan’s Seeming illusion, appeared to be as common folk as the rest of the poor saps that still live in Whitestone. They (…) also managed to come across a central portion of Whitestone’s city structure and history known as the Sun Tree. A tree once risen to the might of the sun god Pelor, now lies dead in the center of town, and from it hung eight figures that appeared to have been individuals killed, hung, and painted up and dressed to resemble Vox Machina, as essentially a warning or a welcome; it’s hard to tell when it comes to the Briarwoods. Nevertheless, a message was definitely delivered.
One(?) gifset per episode || 27 The Path to Whitestone
After much discussion and preparation, and purchasing a lot of mirrors, the party took their transit over to east, northeast, towards Whitestone, where they began to traverse the Alabaster Sierras to the north, using the mountain range as opposed to going directly through the forest. There they managed to avoid encountering a bunch of harpies that were distracted by eating the horses they left behind. They camped for the evening and began to make their way through some sort of a mountainous valley that led in towards the forest surrounding Whitestone. While they were traveling down this pass, there was a rumbling and some sort of really fast, rapid-moving large blue creature that leaped down in front, catching them off guard.
One(?) gifset per episode || 26 Consequences and Cows
When [Vox Machina] returned to the Keep they found two representatives of the northern farmers of Emon who required aid: a series of their livestock had been stolen over the past few weeks and was putting them in dire straits when it came to the necessary amount of meat they had to raise. The group, trying to turn their morality on its head, decided to aid them, awaited out in the center of the cow pasture at night; masquerading, through illusionary magic, as cows themselves.
One(?) gifset per episode || 25 Crimson Diplomacy
[Vox Machina] discovered upon returning that the illustrious Briarwoods (…) were coming to Emon to meet for a political banquet with Sovereign Uriel Tal’Dorei (…). Information was gathered at this banquet, Vax went on his own little adventure into the Briarwoods’ room, in which they nearly killed him. The party rushed out to his aid, much violence ensued, the Briarwoods eventually escaped through some sort of magical means that was not uncovered, however they are no longer in the picture. (…) The party during this event had encountered a tiefling by the name of Lillith, who was masquerading as one of the servants within the Palace of Tal’Dorei, aided them in the battle(…).
