i almost drove myself crazy today trying to remember why december 8th is an important date for me then i remembered thats when i had my second spine surgery ten years ago :3

Something about getting older I hate is that I notice myself BEING the older relative who asks you random questions about your life at holidays and reunions and stuff and it’s like I can’t HELP it but I’m self-aware of it bc of all the memes and jokes surrounding it so I try to like. Make it less awkward which Does Not Work and this Thanksgiving I was alone in the car with one of my only cousins who isn’t an adult and I was like “so…………how old are you like?? What grade are you even in?” And he told me and I was like “okay not to interrogate you it’s just that the last time we spent any time together alone you were 7 years old and not to say kids aren’t people but it feels like now I have to actually get to know you as a like. Human Being with a personality.”

And he was like “yeah that’s fair”

Having CR to look forward to every week helped me through some tough times this year, it has a very special place in my heart.
