What she says: I’m fine

What she means: Merle is one of the most forgiving and unashamed characters to exist ever. He makes friends with the enity that is chasing him throughout 100 lives in 100 universes and had killed him many times. He faces the hunger and humbles himself by bringing his enemy into the parley space. He dies over 50 times making friends with a nihilistic monster who kills him at the end of every interaction. He had the chance to get his arm back with the chalice but he bared his mistakes and learned from them. He said ‘I like that guy’ about the grim reaper who tricked him into loosing his hand in the first place. He stayed with the people he gave faith to on the mushroom planet where he gave an honest speech about his own insecurities about life and death but still gave hope to the people. He gave 40 of his hit points to heal Taako for 20 in Wonderland. Merle didn’t rush in but he always followed his friends into danger anyway. He asks the leader of the hunger if he’s his friend and waits 30 years for John to realise they were friends all along.

Calling all Critters!

A few years ago a call was made to Critters to submit lovely things about Marisha Ray when she was going through a rough spot in the first campaign. The submissions were compiled into a scrapbook and arrived just in time for that month’s round of Critmas. It was a huge success; she was absolutely blown away by the things that were sent to her and how much you guys loved her.

Things have been admittedly rough for the cast the past two months, especially for Matthew. So I’d like to do the same thing for Matthew Mercer: put together something to show our appreciation for what he does and has done as a DM and for what he brings to the show with his skill, imagination and personality.

The rules are the same as before:

  • Submit compliments
  • Submit encouragements
  • Submit happy thoughts or stories about positive impact
  • Be courteous and respectful of boundaries
  • Multiple submissions allowed
  • Put submissions in “Submit your goodness”
  • Specify the name you’d like to submit under, or if you wish to remain anonymous

The deadline for this is December! I encourage you to submit things for the other cast members while you’re at it too! This is a good chance to show the cast what we love about their characters and themselves.

Lastly, even if you don’t submit anything, please reblog this so other people can see it and contribute. Let’s make his happen!

It is officially November!

We have one month left before final preparations, and with about 50 submissions things are looking good! The next month will be spent slowly putting the scrapbook together. I will be sending a private message to everyone who has submitted something via tumblr to finalize submissions, so look for those!

If you have submitted but aren’t following this blog, please do so to keep up with the progress of the project! You’re also perfectly welcome to follow this blog out of curiosity. This won’t be the last project for Critical Role that this blog will be doing!

Remember: the deadline for submissions is the first week of December. After that, the scrapbook will be finished and mailed out directly to arrive in time for Christmas/Critmas!

Thank you to everyone who has submitted so far! You’re doing a wonderful thing!
