What the fuck am I to do when my mum has really bad back pain and I offer to do a million things for her like put hot salt on it, put some cream on it, give her a massage, etc etc then she takes ONE painkiller, is incredibly annoyed that it did nothing (since um you know the pain isn’t actually the problem, it’s just a symptom), and also gets annoyed at me when I offer my help…?
